The Full Story

FrenDent

The FrenDent App is the friend of Dentists.  This Idea came along while talking to few dentists in the town. They can have their dental patients records on the go, which helps them to view and guide the dental patients by viewing their medical history, or add a new dental patients just through their Mobile. Dentists can set or reschedule appointments. 

Project Introduction. Project type - Google UX Course Project. Contribution - User Interview, User Journey Mapping, Ideation, Paper prototype, High-fidelity prototype, Interaction design. 

My role - As UX designer.

Darshini

Darshini is a brilliant dentist who employed three junior dentists and she is committed to her work. She wants to become the best dentist in her town and looking to capture the market.  She likes going on trekking in the weekends and she does it religiously.

PERSONAS

Harinath

Hari likes black coffee and he enjoys having it hot. He owns a dental clinic and he needs the energy flowing to keep his patients attended and to make them happy is his ultimate goal. He likes riding and he will do it in the weekends, he however, travels 1 hour everyday for his work and it is not tiring for him.

Prakruthi

Prakruthi is a new-gen dentist who has just started here career as a dentist. She tells "Mobile is a part of me and I can't ignore it anywhere". She developed a habit of consulting online from the pandemic time, and she thinks consulting and setting up appointment through phone is easier than anything.

Interview and Quesitonnaire

Research

I conducted a quick survey with the 5 key question to understand their needs to find out their needs and if those needs are already being met.  The data was collected through the primary research by reaching out to dentists in the town.  

Questionnaire

1. What city do you live in?
2. How many patients do you treat in a day?
3. Do you find useful if you had an app to use as a Pocket CRM?
4. Can you take me through your journey from meeting a patient      until the recovery?
5. Do you have enough resources to keep your patient's details handy?

Reframe Design Question

The above findings helped me further narrow down my problem statement, so I came up with my final Design Quesion.

How might I provide a solution for managing the patients' for Dentist only on Mobile phone?

Takeaway and Next Steps
Next Steps

EMPATHY is a key thing to understand what the user feels while he or she is trying to complete a task. Designing a flawless user journey can keep the user happy and can create stickiness to the APP, which in a way is good.

 

DESIGN SYSTEM - A well-defined design system is crucial for maintaining consistency and efficiency in the design process. Initially, we started working on a sketch without a design system and were caught off guard by the sheer number of screens. Soon enough, we began to notice inconsistencies as we made changes to individual screens without considering the broader design system. However, after learning about the concept of atomic design, we recognized the importance of creating a comprehensive design system beforehand. Moving forward, I plan to utilize existing design systems such as Material design or Polaris, or create one tailored to the specific needs of the project.

COMMUNICATION is something very important, it helps understand about the deepest of the deepest problems or confusions. It is also important that, we should take a note always about any communications exchanged, because it helps to record the background and eliminates errors.

Keep erning about CRMs and find new ways to shorten the user journey so that the helps doctors even save the time.
